Revert To Previous Baseline

Is there anyway to revert the current view back to what it held on the last baseline? Several changes were made incorrectly to a module, now we would like to destroy all of those changes and revert to the last baseline. I would like everything to be as it was (objects, history, links...). As far as I can tell this is impossible... I'm hoping somebody has encountered a problem like this before.

Thank You,
Curtis Bissonnette

I have lost count of the number of times I have been asked this question.

There is no roll-back to a previous baseline. Baselines are read-only snapshots that cannot be changed.

Your only option is to open the baseline, loop through all the objects and copy values across for all attributes. Changes will of course be reflected in the history.

If it is important enough to you and you are willing to go to the expense and time, Telelogic could work the issue.

... and delete and purge newly created objects and undelete deleted objects and undelete deleted objects; and gnash your teeth for objects recently purged.

Thanks guys. I was hoping for some miracle, I guess I'll just get to work rolling it back.

Don't forget objects that moved!

The morale of the story is "Don't let muppets loose on your database."

I believe a sage from England once told me that it is the 'muppets' that makes DOORS interesting.

Well at least I have job security to fix all the problems... I found a DXL which rolls back object history. I combined this with some other scripts and I got the module back into working order. Thanks for all the reply's.

Hello Curtis,

Could you please direct me to these roolback scripts. I'm in a similar situation and they would be very useful.

Many thanks
Lee

Do you have your hands on the "kitchen" scripts. If you don't you should be able to find them some where on the forum. Search for kitchen, or kitchen sink. There is a history option, with the script "Undo Change On Current Object". I was going to write a simple script to loop through all objects and call this, but as it turns out I only needed to revert seven or eight objects, so I did it by hand. I also replace my link modules with a backup copy I make ever night. Then it was just a matter of setting our internal attributes back, and I wrote some scripts for that (these are company related so you don't have any use for them). In short, get hold of the Kitchen scripts, and use the rollback one manually, or take ten minutes to make it loop through all your objects. Hope this helped.
